Transport for disabled passengers

Larger towns and cities may have a transport scheme which is accessible to disabled people for regular local shopping trips or social outings locally. This is a door to door service which you usually have to register to become a member. The drivers are usually trained in first aid and basic manual handling to assist you. Contact your local authority or council to check if this is available in your area.

For more information please see: HcL Transport.

For areas which do not have this service there maybe a similar community car scheme or shopping bus. Check with your local authority or local carer centre.
