Because I\u2019ve always wanted, I\u2019ve always done numbers. And I couldn\u2019t do sudukios [sudoku]. Worked at myself and Pauline would say\u2026\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Pauline refused me the right to do sudukios [sudoku] because she was worried in case I was working and getting angrier because I couldn\u2019t do a simple one. So she took the\u2026\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pauline:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> \u201cI took the book and hid it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Frank: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPauline couldn\u2019t do a sudukios [sudoku]. I could work at it.   No you\u2019re not. She had taken it away and hid it. And I used to go about trying to find pages or get the Daily Record, they do one. And I would go and try to find one, old ones and anything. So I\u2019d get, to get the numbers working. I wasn\u2019t happy being reduced not to do any sudukios [sudoku]. And then one of the days was the\u2026that I was trying,  was it  the alphabet?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pauline: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Aye you wanted to. We came to a deal that because you wanted so badly to do the sudukios [sudoku] that you had to think of others, you had to do the other stuff first. And at the time you couldn\u2019t even do the alphabet.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Frank: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pauline:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> \u201cHe didn\u2019t know how to do the alphabet, he\u2019d forgotten it completely.\u201d \u201cSo what we did was, we sat him down at the computer and a blank screen on the computer.\u201d \u201cThe whole alphabet is there.\u201d \u201cType the alphabet.\u201d \u201cI don\u2019t care how long it takes, but type it and I just walked away and left because I thought right.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m not going to stand here and watch him because that\u2019s gonna be too difficult, just get on with it.\u201d \u201cAnd you must have been about an hour, hour and a half sitting doing the alphabet.\u201d \u201cTo start with he\u2019d done.\u201d \u201cWhen I\u2019d put him there to do it, what he\u2019d done, and I don\u2019t know if other people do it., but kids do it\u201d \u201cIf they suddenly don\u2019t want to do something, or if they are scared of trying something, they will fiddle.\u201d \u201cThey will move this or they\u2019ll move that.\u201d \u201cOr I just need to change this bit or something else.\u201d \u201cHe did exactly the same.\u201d \u201cHe\u2019d reverted to being a 3, 4, 5 year old child that, I can\u2019t do this so if I fiddle around long enough she will leave me alone and I won\u2019t have to do it.\u201d \u201c Well because of our relationship I don\u2019t just leave it alone and we do , once we start doing something, that\u2019s it.\u201d \u201cWe do it.\u201d \u201cSo he sat there for about an hour and a half and then when I went back in and had a look.\u201d \u201cSee I\u2019ve done it.\u201d \u201cWell he hadn\u2019t because he\u2019d missed a few.\u201d \u201cAlright it was only a couple that he\u2019d missed but still, missed them.\u201d \u201cSo then it was like a couple of weeks later you wanted to try and write.\u201d \u201cThen it got to\u2026\u201d \u201cThere was a specific block.\u201d \u201cYou got , like he was doing so many and then he\u2019d come to a specific block of them.\u201d \u201cAnd no matter how long he sat looking at it, it just wasn\u2019t coming.\u201d \u201cSo we worked and worked and worked with that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Video running time: 03.19 minutes.
