The longer the journey and the less able the person is, means more planning before taking longer trips.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planning ahead &#8211; before your journey<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to your method of transport. Car, bus, coach, rail, boat or air. Can you be sure what facilities are available at each stage?<\/li>\n<li>Assistance available. Will there be someone to help you?<\/li>\n<li>Do you need to book in advance?<\/li>\n<li>Are there accessible toilets? Check <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.disabilityrightsuk.org\/products\/radar-key#:~:text=around%20the%20country-,The%20National%20Key%20Scheme%20(NKS)%20offers%20disabled%20people%20independent%20access,most%20parts%20of%20the%20country.\">Disability Right UK<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Can you travel at quieter time off peak?<\/li>\n<li>Allow extra time on your journey especially if changes are needed, for example when changing trains or in an airport.<\/li>\n<li>Think about taking extra supplies of your medication, drinks and food in case of any unforeseen delays.<\/li>\n<li>Do you have travel insurance for a complex journey?
