Many carers purchase feeding, dressing or kitchen equipment themselves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jar openers<\/strong>, <strong>non slip mats<\/strong> for plates,\u00a0<strong>long handled shoe horns<\/strong> or <strong>easy reachers<\/strong> to pick items up from the floor are all useful. Check if they can be ordered free of charge from your local authority by self referral before buying.<\/p>\n<p>There are several companies which offer online or mail order equipment.\u00a0Some areas in \u00a0Scotland have local shops where you can buy directly.
