As an alternative it may be possible to raise an existing armchair on chair raisers or by using additional cushion inserts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Powered rise and recline armchairs<\/strong> are also available in some areas but these are only supplied when there is an assessed\u00a0need, such as people who have a medical need to have their legs\u00a0raised or people who are otherwise difficult to move but have to be seated for most of the day. Bear in mind that a recliner armchair takes up a lot of space. Usually at least five feet when reclined and it has to be near a wall socket for the power.
