The qualifying age for pension credit will increase with the qualifying age for the State Retirement Pension. It is made up of two parts:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3782\" title=\"pension_credits\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stroke4carers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/pension_credits.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stroke4carers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/pension_credits.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.stroke4carers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/pension_credits-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Guarantee Credit<\/strong> may be paid to people aged 60 or over and tops up your weekly income to a guaranteed minimum level.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Savings Credit<\/strong> is an extra amount for people aged 65 or over who have saved some money towards their retirement, such as savings or a second pension.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can get the Savings Credit on top of the Guarantee Credit. If eligible, you may receive one or both elements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>National Insurance Credits<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you are a carer receiving Carers Allowance or Income Support, you will get National Insurance Credits for the number of weeks you have been claiming these benefits.\u00a0This will\u00a0contribute to your state pension.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pension Credit is a means-tested tax-free payment for people who have reached or are over the state pension age.
