{"id":18,"date":"2010-10-20T14:47:31","date_gmt":"2010-10-20T14:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stroke4carers.org\/?p=18"},"modified":"2015-06-12T16:47:21","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T15:47:21","slug":"tia-transient-ischaemic-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stroke4carers.org\/?p=18","title":{"rendered":"Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) or Mini Stroke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stroke symptoms which may only last a few minutes\u00a0but less than\u00a024 hours<\/p>\n<p>Some examples of TIA symptoms could be-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Weakness, numbness or clumsiness in one side of the body , face, arm or leg.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Disturbed vision in one or both eyes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Slurred speech or muddled words<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other\u00a0things to look for\u00a0which may be associated with TIA <strong>if they also occur at the same time<\/strong> as any of the above include-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loss of feeling in one side of the body.( Not pins and needles or a jerking of the limbs)<\/li>\n<li>If vision has changed, check by covering one eye at a time to\u00a0work out\u00a0if the\u00a0sight\u00a0is affected in\u00a0one or both the eyes.<\/li>\n<li>Migraine can produce symptoms similar to TIA but they do not tend to come together with the main symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is important that you seek medical advice early even if\u00a0the symptoms have disappeared.
