Most stroke units will operate a\u00a0 system where one nurse or therapist is the key contact person. The therapy staff can also be contacted by phone or appointment.<\/td>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1191\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/icon_activities.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"100\" \/>Ask if there are activities to help the persons recovery\u00a0which can be done by visitors at weekends or evenings when therapy staff are away.<\/td>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1191\" title=\"No food allowed\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/icon_nofood.gif\" alt=\"No food allowed\" width=\"120\" height=\"100\" \/>Some hospitals have strict rules about visiting times, patient rest periods and relatives bringing in food for patients. If in doubt ask.<\/td>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1191\" title=\"Case manager\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/icon_manager.jpg\" alt=\"Case manager\" width=\"120\" height=\"100\" \/>The senior doctor or senior nurse are in charge of medical or nursing care. Social services and local authority staff often operate by allocating a key worker or case manager to each person they are involved with. Find out the name and contact number of the case manager.
